How long have you worked at Martin Brattrud?
20 Years

How did you find Martin Brattrud?
My brother was already working here and I asked him if they were hiring. He told me to come by and apply.

Tell us about your job.
My job is to cut pattern or custom pieces using our textile cutting machine, check envelopes, set up tables, and cut orders. Every day presents different challenges, with various dimensions, styles, and materials. It's a challenging yet rewarding role.

What sticks out to you as a memorable project that you've worked on?
Sofi Stadium. Those drywall panels and knowing they were for one of the best stadiums in the world was an incredible feeling. Being a part of such a high-profile project is definitely a highlight of my career.

What are you most proud of at work?
The opportunity this company has given me to learn and grow. I started working in the shipping department and now I am a textile cutting machine operator. Martin Brattrud has provided me with the chance to develop my skills and advance within the company.

Does owning stock in the company change the way you feel about your job?
I will say yes. It gives you extra motivation to be better. Knowing that I have a stake in the company's success pushes me to work harder and more efficiently, as I understand that my efforts directly contribute to the overall performance of Martin Brattrud.

What's special about the people you work with?
After all of the years I've worked here, some of the people are like family. We've built strong bonds and relationships, supporting each other through the challenges and celebrating our successes together. It's a tight-knit community that makes coming to work a pleasure.

Who inspires you? Why?
My family. Seeing my kids growing and knowing that they are proud of me is the greatest inspiration. They motivate me to be the best version of myself, both at work and at home. Their love and support drive me to succeed and provide for them.

What's your favorite thing about California?
Definitely the weather. And the fact that California offers you anything just by driving a few hours - mountains, beaches, and city. The diversity of landscapes and experiences available within a short distance is truly remarkable. It's like having the best of all worlds right at your fingertips.

What is your go-to comfort food and where do you get it?
I have always loved tacos. There are a few local places I can recommend that serve the most amazing tacos. Whenever I need a pick-me-up or a taste of home, I know I can count on these spots to satisfy my cravings.
